Amy Mitchell

Co-Lead Teacher

Like so many Montessori educators, Amy fell in love with teaching after discovering Montessori for her own family. Walking into the small Montessori school in Kennett Square, PA she remembers being in awe of the young children working quietly and with purpose, “the room was so peaceful, buzzing with discovery and wonder. It was how I was raising my own three children and was a natural fit for us. I was completely hooked”! In 2011 Amy earned her AMS Certification from MITE in Wilmington DE, and has continued to teach and guide other Montessori teachers in various leadership roles.

Amy is no stranger to Clementine. She is returning after a few years and could not be more excited to share her experiences with Clementine’s amazing team of teachers and administrative staff. She believes in building strong community with her students and their families and looks forward to continuing her journey with her new Clementine family.

Catherine Montgomery

Co-Lead Teacher

Catherine holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University, and her early teaching experiences were for art programs, in museum and community settings. Like many, she found Montessori when looking for a quality preschool for her own children. After many years as an Assistant in a Montessori classroom, she has served as Lead Teacher for the past few years. During this time she has also completed her Montessori Primary Certification at Chestnut Hill College.

She is excited to be continuing her second year in Ginkgo and thankful to be part of the Clementine community. Catherine is eager to guide children in their discovery through exploration of Montessori works. She is honored to foster a love of learning, a curiosity about the world, and a sense of community, kindness, and inclusion.
